چکیده

August 01, 2007 | Musculoskeletal Imaging [1], Vendors [2] Although the roots of traditional geometric x-ray tomography date back to the 1930s, the technique was not practical at that time because image receptors could not provide large-area dynamic scanning. The technique, renamed tomosynthesis in the 1970s, acquired only one imaging section at a time, requiring additional time and radiation dose to obtain more imaging sections. It's not hard to understand why, therefore, plain-film tomosynthesis fell by the wayside as soon as CT came along.

A 900-MHz 2.5-mA CMOS Frequency Synthesizer with an Automatic SC Tuning Loop

A 900-MHz phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer implemented in a 0.6m CMOS technology is developed for the Wireless Integrated Network Sensors applications. It incorporates an automatic switched-capacitor (SC) discrete-tuning loop to extend the overall frequency tuning range to 20%, while the VCO gain ( VCO) resulting from the CMOS varactor continuous-tuning is kept low at only 20 MHz/V in or...

Changes in prevalence of calcaneal spurs in men & women: a random population from a trauma clinic

BACKGROUND This study reports the changing prevalence of ankle (Achilles and plantar) spurs with age, in order to comment on their significance to rheumatologists. METHODS 1080 lateral ankle radiographs from each of 9 (50 men and 50 women) age cohorts from 2 to 96 years old of patients attending a trauma clinic were examined and spurs classified as small or large. RESULTS The prevalence of ...

Bilateral Transverse (Bowdler) Fibular Spurs with Hypophosphatasia in an Adolescent Girl

Hypophosphatasia is a clinically heterogeneous inheritable disorder characterized by defective bone mineralization and the deficiency of serum and tissue liver/bone/kidney alkaline phosphatase activities. Due to the mineralization defect of the bones, various skeletal findings can be radiologically observed in hypophosphatasia. Bowing and Bowdler spurs of long bones are the characteristic findi...
